Ledger’s Cottage is a harbourfront home in the pretty East Neuk fishing village of Pittenweem.
Beautifully renovated and presented with a contemporary take on coastal style, the quality of furnishings and finish exude comfort and character.
Formed over the first and second floor of this listed building, Ledger’s Cottage has three spacious bedrooms, an open plan style lounge/ dining kitchen and two shower rooms. Up to six guests can be comfortably accommodated making it ideal for a family group, friends seeking a quiet stay by the sea or golfers hoping to take in a few rounds at some of the many famous courses within easy reach.
An external staircase leads to the front door where a cloak area offers useful space for kicking off sandy shoes and hanging up beach bags. To the front of the property are the living areas: a modern kitchen with fitted appliances and well-equipped for a self-catering stay, a dining area for six guests and the lounge with comfy sofas to relax into after a day exploring. The dual aspect windows make this a light space and offer views over the harbour to the sea beyond. The décor throughout is carefully considered to create a cosy ambience, with traditional pieces mixed with modern comfort, exposed stone walls, a variety of textures and muted tones all contributing to a homely feel.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a king bed and the other with a superking which can be arranged as a twin on request. To the rear of the property is a useful utility area with washing machine. A modern shower room with walk in shower completes the accommodation on the first floor.
A staircase leads to the third bedroom, a well-proportioned space which benefits from a seating area as well as a workspace for those who may need to catch up on emails whilst on holiday. The en-suite shower room is attached to this bedroom.
Located on the shore of Pittenweem near the working harbour, parking can be found on street.
Pittenweem is home to coffee shops, restaurants and pubs as well as galleries and gift shops. The famous arts festival is held every August and attracts visitors from across the world. Each of the neighbouring East Neuk villages is easily reached via the Fife Coastal Path and keen wild swimmers can take a dip in the outdoor tidal pool at West Braes.
Popular with walkers, the East Neuk is also a great destination for keen photographers, those keen on outdoor activities such as paddleboarding and of course golf. There is a vibrant food and drink scene with many local producers offering the finest of fresh fare at locally held markets and festivals throughout the year too. The East Neuk is renowned for being dog friendly, with the local pub, The West End Bar, recently being awarded the most dog friendly
